Around the House: October
So here is a challenge I am thinking about. The design world is all about the "big reveal". Obviously, transforming your space into something special and beautiful is exciting and my entire motivation in life (basically). So I get it, there is nothing like a good "tada" moment. But as much as I want the house to go presto and each room be "done" when I say so, it doesn't work that way. In real life, you have to test 5 shades of pink before you find the right one (ironically named "quartz white"), and the slip covers you bought don't fit so you have to make your own, buy more spray paint, and then do the dishes, grocery shop, go to the gym, sleep and attend to fluffy creatures who are always up in your business!.... Phew. Basically, I have a smattering of projects here and there but I feel like its all a bunch of "almosts", and not worthy for its own big ole post yet. Blah blah blah, welcome to my insecurities blog.
So, no, I don't have a stack of magical makeover moments ready to publish. But I do have some phone snapshots of life around the house; kitties, sneak peeks, sunsets and all things a day in the life.
Bought new chandelier and put up some art! About time! I have such art commitment phobia.
Sunset in Sunset Hill. By the way, I kinda feel like Tyra in Life Size, when I say that's where I live. Like it's a made up sounding name, too perfect, like Sunnyvale. Super highfives if you know what the heck I am talking about.
Organizing my closet. Maybe not exciting, but certainly sparkly.
Reading Country Living, my fave. But wondering if this phrasing was intentional or a placeholder that accidentally didn't get edited. "apropos"? In Country Living? Love it.
Look what I did! It was driving me bananas. Could not handle one more day of baby poo. So I painted like a ninja in just a few hours to surprise Ansel.
Warm fuzzies. Literally.
So thats what I have been up to. Enjoying creating my home bit by bit despite no big reveal.
