Midi Me

Midi Me

It's not easy being tall. Or green, so I've heard. One of the most annoying things is that the hemlines on dresses and skirts is never in the right spot, usually waaay too short. But I am super jazzed about this new trend wave: The Midi Skirt. I suppose the name implies that it is meant to fall in between mini and maxi. The hem is at the knee or just below. It is a retro shape often full and high-waisted, and you know what? I love it. It works really well on my tall hourglass shape and I would expect is flattering for both women with and without curves. I purchased a black midi from H&M early this fall for a wedding and just adore it. But I wanted to try a more casual style to double-check before I fell fully head over heals. Success! This skirt from Ruche is lovely and I have already gotten compliments on it. So lets celebrate the midi while it lasts! Here are a bounty of ways to wear it.

With a stripey sailor top for a sunny date:

With a corset top and slouchy cardi for a casual weekend:

With a moto jacket for a little edge out on the town:

With a sweater and scarf for windy walks:

With lace and simple black scoop neck for a sophisticated dinner party:

With summery sandals and blouse for a boho bash:

With a button down and belt for a classy day at work:

Love them all, you?
