Things I like: August 2013
So sometimes I like things and want to share, but my thoughts are so scattered that they wouldn't make a good full post. So I'm just gonna make a list.
Things I like:
1. I like lists :)
2. I like this sofa: I have now not so sneakily incorporated testing it out while out and about with three gal pals and Ansel, and each time it's reaffirming of my love. Our new house is petite. It does not have a den or media room or whatever along with a living room. There is the one living room, and room for one sofa. So it has got to do it all. I want it fresh and crisp for ladies tea parties in the afternoon and deep and high backed for some hard core cuddling and tv viewing at night. Yes, Pottery Barn is, well, Pottery Barn, but what can I say? I guess I am just one of the masses.
3. I like this blog: Not only does she live my dream life, ie; jet setting around the world with her dashing husband and baby, remodeling 3 homes in 4 years seemingly budgetless, and starting her own small business... but she also writes as I imagine she speaks. She is pretty darn funny and sarcastic and not afraid of grainy photos or imperfection. Yet wildly popular. Which is a good reminder, (especially when I read this and this), that just being your self can sometimes compete with anxiety attack inducing perfect polish.
4. I like this show: Of course I had to check it out because its set in my hometown of Minneapolis, and that is raaaare, let me tell you. But I was sucked in immediately. And now I am seriously addicted because Nicole Curtis is in there with the guys getting things done and has amazing vision for home restoration. Being able to recognize sites in the b roll is delightful, but I would still watch and be happy if it was set anywhere else. Although, side note, do you think there really are raw diy house flippers in the big cities like LA or NYC anymore? Probably not. They only people who have a shot are wealthy contractors. So I guess Minneapolis is the perfect spot :)
That's all for now. Thoughts?
